Meet Diana Lessner We are thrilled to welcome to our Mary Catherine’s staff the multifaceted dealer/decorator/furniture painter, Diana Lessner. Diana is the mother of local restaurateurs, Elizabeth and Tim Lessner, and her unique eye and flair are found in all three of their themed restaurants: Betty’s Fine Food and Spirits, Surly Girl Saloon, and the Tip Top Kitchen and Cocktails. “Gothic carnival” is how one reviewer describes her work----a style that dovetails nicely with arranging and marketing 19th and 20th century antiques and oddities.In addition to decorating the shop and hand-painting case pieces of furniture, Ms. Lessner’s primary focus will be consigning and selling wares that appeal to the young, urban shopper. “Charming but edgy,” says one 20-something fan of Diana’s merchandise. Funky, fun, and sometimes downright hot and hip, Diana Lessner’s “stuff” and style is making a big splash at Mary Catherine’s. |
